New Belgium UAR

posted in: General - No Comments

New Belgium hosted another (3rd) Urban Assault Ride in Seattle, and again, we lucked out with great weather. This is a whimsical road bike event in which at each of the known check points, and the two mystery checkpoints, you must complete some sort of ‘challenge’ before going on. I rode with my helmet cam, but forgot to turn it in at all the checkpoints. I teamed up with Scott again this year as Team Cutters (80’s movie reference, Bicycle Dreams) but we rode as a group with Clem and his brother Clay. Matt and Frank were gonna join our group, but got mixed up at the start. We’ll be doing this again next year. Fun event. Fun after party.

Easter Family Pedal

We had Easter down at Jim’s house in Vancouver. He showed that he can cook a big feast for the whole gang as well as still use picnic tables as mountain bike obstacles. Rod, Austin, Zoe, and Dad also joined in on the ride at a wooded park in the neighborhood.

The Blog is Back!

I had stopped progress on my blog due to Facebook becoming my online outlet. But now that AnnaJo got me a helmet cam for my birthday (hurray!) – I need a place to post all my new videos and photos I’m bound to be creating. Also, I have always wanted a general online photo gallery for basic items, so I will be pre-dating a lot of posts to create a more general photo-blog. I’ll reinstate the password once I tweak the new theme further.

30th Birthday Bash at Crystal Mt.

posted in: Events, Snow Skiing - No Comments

Annie and AnnaJo organized a weekend in the snow up at Crystal Mt. for me and Jim’s 30th birthday. Got 3 rooms at one of the lodges up there.  Erker clan was there as well as the folks and a few friends;  LB, Pat, Dan, and Catie. We really lucked out on weather and the snow was surprisingly good too! Good times were had on the snow by day, and at the Snorting Elk by night!

It’s a big file, give it a second (or a few) to load.

Jared’s backyard

A large group rallied up at Jareds for some summer BBQ SHENANIGANS. Played volleyball until after the sun went down. A ton of cow and pig was grilled up. Gathered on the patio near the firepit after dark before retiring to the Coleman tent city for the night.
